Week In Review 9/11/16 - 9/17/16

I am going to try and start something new, I am going to try and journal about my crafting and life on this blog.

Sunday:  I spent most of the day going school work as is normally the case for me.  however, I did get some crafting in.  I needed a cathartic project to release some pent up frustration from my classes.  So I created this little Zombie Voodoo Doll!  Is she not totally adorable?   She is my own brainchild and once i get some more of that green yarn I will be making  Mr. zombie Voodoo doll!

Monday:   I spent most of my day in class on Monday.  When I got home I was exhausted, however, I
worked on some homework (I see a trend here) and took a nap. Getting up at 4:30am really tires you out.  I did get some knitting in, though, I am determined to get Christmas presents done.  I hope to start the toe decreases tomorrow night.

Tuesday:  Today was a homework-heavy day.  I only gave myself an hour of crafting time.  So I
worked on my shawl tonight.  Tomorrow is my long day, starting at 4:30 am and going until 8pm.

Saturday:  I got a Yarn ball winder and spent the day studying and winding yarn into balls.  I also did a little work on my shawl.

Sweet Summer Escape - Update

Well we are a few weeks into sweet summer escape and I have been completely derailed by life.  I started out so well but the last week I didn't get time to put in a single stitch... knitting was all I could manage with two kids running around my house.  This week I am trying to get all the last minute things done before i have to go back to school.  I though I had everything done and would be able to relax... Nope lots to do in just a week to get it all done.  But I am hoping to get back to some stitching starting tomorrow, even if it is only a few hundred stitches on Highland Lighthouse.

Sweet Summer Escape plans

I had such grand plans for this year's Sweet Summer Escape event over at Cross Stitch, It's fun!   I wanted to start 40 new projects over the 39 days.  I was so excited with the idea, I started planning what projects I was going to start, my husband thought I was nuts, my friends thought I was nuts, and I loved it.  But life has a way of getting in the way of my stitching time.  So I have had to adapt my plans.  So instead of starting 40 new cross stitch projects, I am going to try to work on a different project each day, be it cross stitch, crochet, or knitting.  I have a pile of Christmas presents to complete on top of family visits the next two weekends.  I also have to take an important test this week and continue to prepare for the Fall semester.  This is my last year of school and probably the most important.  So with that in mind, I am going to try to work on at least 5 different cross stitch projects each week.  I also plan on working on at last 2 different yarn projects each week.  And I would like to complete at least 5 FFO's by the end of the event.   I hope that come Labor day weekend I will be able to say that I have met my goals.  Wish me luck!
